Celebrating Success: Fearless Girls Project wins awards at the Civil Society Gala
About the Project
According to research by the Progress Foundation, a significant percentage of these girls experience verbal violence and worry about their future.
The project, conducted through public and school libraries, supplements girls' education with key information not typically covered in schools. Topics include health education, identity search, anxiety, assertive communication, bullying, discrimination, active citizenship, financial independence, future careers, fake news, global warming, human trafficking, and sexual abuse of minors. These subjects are presented by experts via podcasts and reinforced through creative activities and games. At the end of the program, participants will organize a civic event addressing a community need they have identified.
Over the past two years, more than 700 girls from rural and small urban areas in 26 counties have participated in this project, which continues to evolve and deepen its themes.
